Panama: Canopy Tower, Pipeline Road & The Darién, Feb 4-12, 2026

from $4,700.00
sold out

Coming in Winter 2026:

Explore Panama, one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. The link between Central America and South America, blending the ecologies and birdlife of the two regions, home to an astonishing range of flora and fauna.

This trip will visit two legendary, family-owned eco-lodges: Canopy Tower and Canopy Camp and nearby environs. These are some of the most legendary eco-lodges in the world; last year’s trip to Panama was incredible and no detail was overlooked.

Canopy Tower will bring us eye-level with rainforest canopy life - sloths, monkeys, and of course inumerable bird species in the rich lowland tropical forests of the Canal Zone. It features some of the best birding Central America has to offer!  Our base of operations will be the world-famous Canopy Tower with unlimited access to their fabulous Observation Deck every morning, afternoon and evening, where you can enjoy ‘canopy birding’ at its best!  We will also make excursions to some of Panama’s premier birding locations, including the world famous Pipeline Road, along with Semaphore Hill, Plantation Trail, Summit Ponds, the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center and its remarkable tower, and the Chagres River.

Canopy Camp will bring us into the heart of the rainforest, exploring the remote Darién, the only stretch of Latin America that the Pan-American Highway doesn’t cross. This is some of the last truly remote, undeveloped rainforest in the region, home to Jaguars, Monkeys, Sloths, Harpy Eagles, and other creatures of primeval rainforest. We will stay in safari-style canvas tents with full beds, linens, etc.

We will also have the privilege of visiting a nearby indigenous community and learning something about their culture and way of life.

As with all of my tours, we work exclusively with locally and family-owned companies and hotels, ensuring that the revenue from the trip stays within the communities we visit and helps support conservation in these regions.

Includes all park entry fees, local guides, meals, ground transportation, and lodging.

Gratuities not included.
