Shorebirds: Ecology & Identification

Shorebirds are a fascinating and declining group of birds that includes sandpipers, plovers, oystercatchers, avocets, and more. They can be extremely challenging to identify, but their great diversity, social nature, and potential for rarities can enliven any trip to a beach or marsh. Learn about their ecology, behavior, conservation challenges, and the finer points of ID in this Zoom workshop. Then join at Jamaica Bay the following Saturday to put your newfound skills to use! $30
